Kishtwar/…Advisors to Hon’ble Governor J&K K.Vijay Kumar, Kewal Krishan Sharma and Chief Secretary B.V. R Subramanyam today visited Kishtwar and took detailed review meeting with district officers regarding developmental activities and other crucial issues concerned with district.

Among others who attended the meeting includes District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana, SSP Kishtwar Rajinder Kumar Gupta , ADDC Kishtwar Imam Din, ADC Kishtwar Pawan Kumar Parihar, Joint Director Planning Yasir Balwan , GM CVPP and other civil and police officers.
At the outset, DDC, Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana warmly welcomed the Advisors and Chief Secretary for their visit in the district . He presented a detailed power point presentation and appraised the dignitaries about the district profile and the initiatives / projects taken by the district administration to gear up the development scenario of key sectors.
He also briefed the meeting about the achievements of the current fiscal likewise latest position of GDC Chatroo building, 100 bedded IPD building at District Hospital, Kishtwar, Polytechnic College building, SC Hostel, multi purpose indoor stadium hall at GHSS(Girls) Kishtwar, latest position of Naigad Water Supply Scheme where pipe line has been laid down upto 28 kms out of 32 km besides status of ongoing work on Pakal Dool, Keero and Kwar HEP’s. Further, the chair was briefed about the languishing projects of the district.
To further uplift the developmental process in the district and to provide better amenities to the people, the DDC put forth various issues needing intervention of the government including release of additional funds in key sectors. Further, request was made to look into issue of poor connectivity of BSNL, authorising Deputy Commissioner for transferring para Medical staff on need basis, establishment of fire wood depots in remote areas, slashing of timber rates, relaxation of condition for works costing above Rs 1.00 lakh under forest sector, expediting of works hired by PDD through private firm namely Shallaka and Transrail, release of funds amounting to Rs 8.00 crores for clearing liabilities under PWD besides release of funds for repair and renovation of dilipiated bridges. In addition to this, intervention was also sought with regard to huge delay made by Forest department in providing forest clearance for Lopara Nowapachi Road and Shivas Gandhari Road , approval for enhancing compensation of PAFs under RR Pakal Dul HEP from Rs 18.00 lakhs to Rs 33.00 lakhs at par with Kishanganga project to avoid law and order problem. Also request was made for replacement of 4 tyre (single tyre) matador by 6 tyres ( Double tyres) matadors and also ban on running of commercial vehicles with more than 15 years life to avoid loss of precious human lives due to road accidents. Further, request was made for fulfilling the shortage of technical staff in PDD, Horticulture and Mechanical staff in PHE Kishtwar for the smooth implementation of ongoing schemes for the general benefit of the people of Kishtwar.
Addressing the officers, the Chief Secretary appreciated the holistic efforts of the district administration in speeding up the development process in the district. He emphasized to necessary boost to horticulture activities since the scope of horticulture scheme is tremendous in the district. In view of upcoming Parliamentary elections , he directed DC and SSP to remain extra cautious and vigilant to ensure that peaceful and harmonious life be not disturbed by any bad elements of the society.
He directed to act tough against such evil elements who try to create communal problem in the district. He further asked to devise strategies for raising the female literacy rate which at present is dismal and needs focused attention to ensure that not even a single female child remain bereft of education . He further asked the concerned officers to work with extra zeal and redouble their efforts so that set out targets under various projects be completed in a time bound manner.
Advisor K.K Sharma expressed his great happiness over the ongoing work of HEPs and remarked that the future of this district is going to be very bright and the day is not far when Kishtwar district will become symbol of peace , development and prosperity in the country. He advised people of Kishtwar to maintain communal harmony , peace and brotherhood and advised them to enjoy the life to its fullest. He further enjoined the officers to take today’s meeting as a cue to commit ourselves for the development and prosperity of the district.
Addressing the participants, Advisor Vijay Kumar announced the sanction of dispensary in Kountwara area which was the long pending demand of the people of Kountwara. He asked the officers to increase their touring ability so as to solve the grievance of poor people at their door steps. He further expressed his satisfaction that the list of issues/demands which were shown in the previous meeting chaired by him have been considerably reduced and admired district administration for the same. He further complimented worthy Chief Secretary for his strong grit ,extra ordinary zeal and unflinching determination in moving the state towards the real path of development and peace in very brief span of his tenure.
He said that focused attention be accorded to expedite the completion of ongoing works in a time bound manner and those who fail to complete their desired tasks shall be taken to task .
Later, score of deputations and delegations met the advisors and Chief Secretary and put forth their demands demands like wise Construction of Tunnel from Matigoran to Warwan, Giving boost to tourism sector in the valley of Marwah, Warwan, Padder and Kishtwar, reduction in Heli charges, installation of Mobile towers in bad pocket areas, posting of Gynecologist in Marwah, Warwan and Padder, release of pending MGNREGA payments, accord of Pahari status to Padder area, completion of Padder Machail road, release of pending wages of casual workers, SPOs, VDCs, MGNREGA staff, augmentation of water supply schemes in densely populated areas, release of pending compensation of roads, opening of bank branches in remote areas of Drabshalla, Padder, Marwah, Inderwal area, blacktopping of all roads, introduction of science subjects in GDC Chatroo, Increasing of infrastructural and medical facilities at Chatroo Hospital, deploying of new SRTC buses, Absorption of local unemployed youth in ongoing projects in transparent manner, establishment of ware house, shifting of office of Municipality in old jail building ,Kishtwar, expressed concern regarding inaccurate disposition of population figures as per census 2011 which needs to be resurveyed, expediting the investigation process and booking of culprits responsible behind killing of Parihar brothers , slashing timber prices, solving the issues of water scarcity in the town and Mandal and reduction in frequent power cuts, divisional status to Chenab Valley, functioning of filter plant , establishment of Rehabilitation Center for drug addicts , establishment of fire station at block level to curb growing fire incidents besides other issues.
Advisors to Hon’ble Governor and Chief Secretary heared all the delegations patiently and assured that their genuine demands will be taken up for speedy redressal on priority.
